Blazers Stand Firm Against Warriors


The Bellingham Blazers squared off against their North Pacific Hockey League rival the West Sound Warriors Friday, February 13th at the Sportsplex. The first of a two-game show down that will determine the final regular season standings prior to the upcoming playoffs. The Warriors hold a two-game advantage over the Blazers and currently sit atop the standings. Friday's rivalry match held nothing back as the teams traded scoring streaks in an effort to best one another. The first period belonged to the Blazers, scoring 4 unanswered goals and adding a fifth in the second period. West Sound would not be shutout, firing three straight goals into the net in the second period. The Warriors would add one more goal in the fourth but the Blazers put the comeback hopes to rest with their final goal late in the third period. Final score 6-4.
